Vertu Jaguar Land Rover Exeter Steps Up For Charity In Hospiscare Men's Walk

Demonstrating their commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, a team of 12 colleagues, friends and family from Vertu Jaguar Land Rover Exeter recently laced up their walking boots for a worthy cause.

The Vertu colleagues joined forces to participate in the Hospiscare Men’s Walk, bonding as a team and helping to raise more than £120,000 to support the essential services provided by Hospiscare.

This year’s event was especially noteworthy as it celebrated its 13th outing, which brought together a record number of participants. The assembly point at Double Locks was the beginning of a picturesque seven-mile circuit around Exeter. Even the unpredictable weather couldn't dampen the walkers' spirits, who were greeted with warmth and hospitality, including a pint and a pasty, at the end of their journey.

Dean Bessant, Head of Business at Vertu Jaguar Land Rover Exeter, expressed immense pride in his team's efforts: "Our participation reflects Vertu Motors' ethos of dedication to our community. The camaraderie was brilliant, and everyone enjoyed the day. The significant amount raised is a testament to everyone’s commitment and will contribute greatly to Hospiscare's invaluable work.

"Vertu Jaguar Land Rover Exeter 's successful participation marks a continued pledge to support local initiatives that have a real impact. The funds raised will ensure that Hospiscare can maintain the delivery of expert and compassionate care to patients and their families during the most challenging times."

Hospiscare, a cornerstone of compassion in the community, provides specialist care to thousands of adults each year facing terminal illnesses. Fundraising events like the Men’s Walk are critical to the charity, with a small percentage of its funding coming from the NHS and the remainder relying on community generosity.
